Fast Chili
Delicious, easy and healthy chili.
Ingredients
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 19 oz. can stewed tomatoes
2 14 oz. cans beans in tomato sauce
2 19 oz cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 cup sliced white or red onions
2 cups diced green bell peppers
1 tbsp. chili powder
Instructions
In a large saucepan over medium heat, brown meat until no longer pink inside. Run hot water over the meat to rinse the fat out.
Add tomotoes, beans in tomato sauce, kidney beans, onions, green peppers and chili powder.
Reduce heat and simmer, covered and stirring occasionally, for 20 to 30 minutes.
Serve with a tossed green salad or vegetable sticks.
Note
A 1 cup serving would be counted as 4 servings of protein (group 6).
