Chophouse Salad

A wonderful accompaniment to grilled meat, especially steak!!

Ingredients

4 Tomatoes (preferably different colours)
Red onion (about ¼ of an onion, depending on your tastes)
A drizzle of Balsamic Vinegar
A drizzle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Salt
Freshly Ground Pepper
4 oz. Blue Cheese (or your cheese preference: gorgonzola or feta is also delicious!)

Cooking Directions

Chop the tomatoes into bite-sized pieces and place them in a bowl or on a platter.

Starting with a ¼ of the red onion, slice the onion as thin as you can, making half moon slices. Lay the onion slices on top of the tomatoes.

Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil over the tomatoes and onions.

Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the salad.

Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Crumble the blue cheese on the top of the salad and serve!

Tip for buying ripe tomatoes:

A ripe tomato should smell like a tomato and the stem should be very dry, almost falling off
