Savoury mixed nuts
Two tasty recipes to offer your holiday guests!
Spiced Mixed Nuts
2 tbsp butter
1 C pecan halves
1 C whole almonds
1 C dry-roasted peanuts
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp chili powder
½ tsp garlic salt
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
Pre-heat the oven to 300F. Melt the butter then add the nuts and the Worcestershire sauce. Stir until well mixed. Bake until toasted, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chili powder, garlic salt and cayenne pepper. Toss until well mixed.
Curried Cashews
6 tbsp lemon juice
6 tbsp curry powder
4 tsp salt
6 C unsalted cashews
Pre-heat the oven to 250F. Whisk lemon juice, curry powder and salt in a large bowl. Add cashews; toss to coat. Divide between two large baking sheets, spread in an even layer. Bake, stirring every 15 minutes until dry; about 45 minutes.
Count ¼ C or 20 – 25 nuts as 2 fats.
