Someone you should listen to

This week I decided to write a very short note simply to encourage you to listen to any, or all lectures by a tremendous Canadian physician-counsellor (originally from Hungary).

By chance, I was listening to a podcast Tim Ferriss was moderating, and was struck deeply by the kind, brilliant and insightful man he was talking to.

His name is Dr. Gabor Maté. He is a general practice doctor who later became a palliative care doctor and is now an addictions specialist working with addicts in Vancouver.

His insight is incredible, not just about the disease of addiction, but his insight into all of our thoughts and feelings.

You can go to his website, drgabormate.com, or simply go to You Tube and you will find multiple talks he has given. Whether you need motivation, or better understanding of your behaviours with food, exercise, work or interpersonal issues, you will find clarity somewhere in his talks. He has written a number of books also.

Food is definitely addictive. Our relationship with it needs deep understanding, if we are going to conquer our desire to eat more than we should, which affects our precious health.

Enjoy his brilliance. If you find only one insight into yourself, I will be very pleased.

Keep learning, keep trying, and never give up.

Dr. B
